EXCITING plans for Melksham Town Football Club’s new stadium have been revealed.
Images have been released of how the new stadium at Woolmore Farm will look as the football club prepares to move from its Conigre home, where they have been since 1926, as a result of the campus construction.
A planning application for Melksham’s new stadium is immanent with the new facility at Woolmore Farm also set to have several other football and training pitches. The site will also include new rugby pitches as Melksham Rugby FC is also moving there as a result of the campus construction.
New football facilities at the new site are to include: • Pitches – one main with stadium, 10 x training and junior pitches. • Changing facilities • Officials’ facilities • Large club/event room with catering • Parking
The new rugby facilities will include: • Pitches – one adult main, one training pitch, junior and mini pitches • Changing facilities • Club room • Parking
The new football stadium with surrounding football, rugby and mini pitches surrounding the stadium is expected to be completed in early 2015. Melksham Town FC is expected to vacate their current Conigre home in either November or December 2014.
Melksham Town FC manager Darren Perrin said, “It is exciting times for the club and when we move we hope it will be the start of bigger and better things for the club and its supporters, as that’s what they deserve.
“The facilities will be the best around and everyone to do with the club will enjoy playing there and being a part of it.”
