Volunteers in Seend spent the weekend cleaning, sanding and painting the phone box by the Lye Field.
Organised by Mark Wood, the project is part of enhancing Seend to prepare for the Best Kept Village Award, organised by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE). Volunteers on the day included Miriam Zaccarelli, Hayley Fairweather, James Miller, John Williams, Michael Stynes and Mark Wood.
Mark said, “It looks really good! It’s great to see that just a few people can do something as easy as this. It didn’t take long and it was a lovely way to spend a few hours making a difference.”
It is hoped that the phone box will become a miniature library for the villagers.
