Residents of all ages gathered for the final Park Yoga session at King George V Park this month, marking the end of a popular scheme that had been running weekly since May.
The free outdoor sessions, part of the nationwide Park Yoga initiative, ran every Sunday for 20 weeks and were consistently well-attended. As the first of its kind in Melksham, the sessions, organised by the town council, offered people of all ages and abilities the chance to enjoy yoga in the park.
Melksham Park Yoga leader Hannah Blueitt said, “What an amazing end to our first Park Yoga season for Melksham. It has been such a joy and honour to guide so many people every Sunday for 20 weeks. Gathering as a community with a common interest whilst being outside in nature. We have been so lucky with the weather too!
“Bringing people together, sharing stories whilst benefiting mind and body. It’s been lovely hearing such positive feedback on how everyone has found these sessions and how it’s benefitted them and the donations people have made to support Park Yoga are deeply appreciated. I really hope this is something that comes back next year for Melksham.”
