Melksham were hosts to Calne on Saturday 30th January.
A strong scrummaging contest brought both sides to the battle, the hosts striving to come out on top, when Skipper Dale Ivory making a break and a strong carry up the centre of the field, passed the ball out to winger Rob Thorne using his pace to beat defenders and get his first.
Both sides settled and contested for the next score. With quick ball out through the backs Thorne was to get his second try, the extras added by Matt Trueman.
Just minutes later Calne were sent reeling after a strong break through the centre by Ben Brown adding another score, Trueman kicking the extras to bring the score to 19-0 at half time.
After the restart, Phil Stone powered over to get the bonus point try. Calne rallied for a while but were unable to hold the home team. Ben Brown broke their defensive line and went in for his second. Trueman with the extras. As the game came to a close the final try went to Mark Bowsher with a powerful run to shut out Calne 36-0.
