BOWERHILL Scout Group has received £280 from Waitrose as part of the store’s Community Matters scheme, which will be used to buy new equipment for the club.
Bowerhill Scouts were one of three nominated charities to share £1000.
Neal Brookes, Scout leader said, “Bowerhill Scout Group are very pleased with the donation, The money will enable us to invest in some new equipment for the whole group.
“The new equipment will be craft supplies such as pens, scissors, paper, paints, glue etc. We are also looking at sports equipment for the summer months, rounders sets, new balls. Going forward we are looking to replace our minibus, but that will take some other money raising ideas.
“We have three sections: Beavers are aged 6 to 8, Cubs are aged 8 to 10 and Scouts are aged 10 onwards.
“Beavers meet on a Friday at the village hall. From 5.30pm to 7pm. Cubs on a Thursday from 6pm to 7.30pm and Scouts meet on a Friday from 7pm to 9pm either at the village hall, or are often outside somewhere in the local area.”
