The first-ever live screening of BBC’s Last Night at the Proms in Melksham will be shown at King George V Park this Saturday, hosted by Melksham Town Council.
The free event will start at 7pm and run until approximately 10.30pm, with one interval and the concert will be broadcast live on a big screen direct from London’s Albert Hall.
It is open to all and free to attend, with donations welcomed towards the mayor’s charity, Julia’s House.
Evie’s Kitchen will remain open throughout the evening, serving a selection of hot and cold refreshments but the public is also encouraged to bring their own picnics to enjoy whilst watching the concert. There will also be an on-site bar until 10pm.
The Last Night of the Proms is the final concert of the BBC Proms, an annual classical music festival held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It is known for its audience participation and features a mix of classical music and traditional British patriotic pieces, including ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory.’
