Excitement is building ahead of The Melksham Makers’ Christmas Market!
The market will be held in the Melksham Assembly Hall on Saturday 19th November from 10am-2pm, and will showcase a wide variety of local makers and traders.
Organisers of the market, Sarah Hillman and Nicola Coleman, are thrilled to have so many local artists and makers joining them for their third Christmas market.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response from local makers who would like to join us for our Christmas Makers’ Market,” said Sarah.
“Last year we managed to fill up the car parks in Melksham with shoppers coming to visit us and we’re hoping to do the same again this year!”
Nicola says, “We have 30 makers joining us for our Christmas market. It’s a great opportunity to support local business and do a little bit of Christmas shopping at the same time!
“We have many of our regular Melksham based traders joining us, including Sandridge Brownies and Bakes, Happy Hounds Bakery, Amanda Humphrey Ceramics, Florrie & Jean, The Secret Crocheter, Katy Wilkinson Jewellery, Wiltshire Wood Art, Karen Elliott Art, Crafty Thyme, Floral Flames, Southbrook Turning, BirdAndBatArt, Naomi Joy Art, The MadBrit Woodworking and Parham’s Cakery.”
Regular traders, and Melksham business owners Tony and Jude from Sandridge Brownies and Bakes, says, “The Melksham Makers’ Market is our favourite venue to trade at! We have been coming since it started and look forward to it every month. We love how the Market Place is used for this fabulous event each month, and we love seeing so many shoppers – many of them repeat customers each month!”
Organisers Sarah and Nicola are well supported by Melksham Town Council in the running of the market, ensuring that it meets all health and safety requirements, as well as helping to put Melksham on the map.
Linda Roberts, Town Clerk reports, “The Town Council are pleased to announce that the Melksham Makers’ Market will be hosting another Christmas Makers Market on 19th November. Last year’s Christmas Market was an enormous success and this year it is set to be just as amazing. The Christmas Makers Market, made up of local traders, is the ideal place to get inspired and pick up a unique personal Christmas gift, hand-made by local traders, right on your doorstep!”
The Christmas market will be the last Makers’ Market for the year but will return again in the new year. For more information, please contact Nicola & Sarah (themelkshammakersmarket@yahoo.com)
