FOLLOWING the resignation of cllr Michael Swanton, a vacancy has become available at Melksham Town Council.
An election will be held if ten registered electors write to the returning officer, Dr Carlton Brand, at Wiltshire Council requesting that a local election be held. The requests must be received by Tuesday 7th May.
If electors do not request an election, the town council will fill the vacancy via co-option.
To request an election, write to Dr Carlton Brand at: Electoral Services, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN.
If an election is called, it will take place no later than Thursday 11th July.
