Sat. 21st Sept. Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts 1 North – Warminster 39 Melksham 1st 13
Warminster were hosts to Melksham and proved too strong for the visitors to win 39-13.
The hosts were first on the board by repeatably taking the ball in and offloading to work their way into the defending half and scoring. Both teams competed well with the next score coming from Melksham’s Luke Cador with the extras added by Alistair Smith to level it up. The home team pounced again just before half time; 14-7.
Both teams traded penalty points after the restart to keep the game within four points and within reach for the visitors. The final quarter however, brought a purple patch for Warminster with 3 unanswered tries and a penalty to seal the victory.
