AS we prepared to be go to press with our last edition of Melksham Independent News, back in March, nobody could have imagined how everybody’s lives would be changed in such an unprecedented way.
But now with lockdown restrictions being gradually eased, we are very pleased to be able to return to our print editions of Melksham News.
Over the past months, we have been updating local news on our website, and have seen a significant increase in site traffic but we realise that many people do not have access to news in this form.
And for many people, there is nothing quite like a newspaper for keeping you informed with everything that is happening locally.
As you will read in this issue, Melksham mobilised a massive effort to help everyone, especially the more vulnerable in our town. It is heartwarming that this initiative is continuing and we hope that we can play our part in sharing all the local information and news as your community newspaper.
We would like to say a massive thank to all the advertisers who have continued to support us, making this newspaper possible. Without them, there would be no Melksham News. Please support them.
Also a big thank you to all our fantastic deliverers. Wiltshire Council has agreed that they can return to their newspaper rounds and we have issued new health and safety advice to all the team, which is so important whilst Covid-19 continues to exist. We would ask members of the public to adhere to the social distancing rules if you see a newspaper deliverer working in your area.
