Whitley Golf Club has presented a cheque for £2,500 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which was raised by a Captains’ Charity Day, held last May. The air ambulance is the club captains’ charity of choice
The club reports, “Whitley Golf Club will continue to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance throughout 2020 and have already booked in various quiz nights, a race night, captains’ charity day and in September, will hold a 24-hour Ryder Cup-style event to increase the funds raised. The first shot from this competition will be taken by the WAA mascot, Wilber.”
Valerie Whistler, partnerships coordinator for Wiltshire Air Ambulance said, “Wiltshire Air Ambulance would like to say a huge thank you to Adam and the Whitley Golf Club for their incredible support in raising £2,500 over the course of 2019.
“As the charity receives no direct Government funding, it is only with the generous support of people like you that we are able to keep the helicopter flying and saving lives. We are so excited that the Whitely Golf Club are going to be continuing to support the charity in 2020, especially as this is a really important year for Wiltshire Air Ambulance as we mark our 30th year of operation, so there will be lots of wonderful and exciting things going on. We look forward to continuing to work together and appreciate the hard work and support.”
Whitley Golf Club said, “Wiltshire Air Ambulance provide a vital emergency lifesaving service that simply wouldn’t exist without the support of individuals and groups like ourselves. The service they provide in this day and age when physical and mental well being is so important is critical, and it is necessary to ensure the message is understood by all and not just those that have benefitted from their outstanding service.”
