MELKSHAM Town FC Girls’ Elizabeth Pools is celebrating success having become national champion at the boxing national finals in Bristol.
Elizabeth, who plays for Melksham Town FC under 16s, secured the win on unanimous points against Hartlepool Catholic’s Shauna Taylor in the Class B U60kg category back in December at the National Association of Boys & Girls Clubs finals.
Rob Bridges from Melksham Town FC said, “Liz is an all round sports person, but she’s found her forte in boxing. She’s incredible dedicated and trains hard and thoroughly deserves the success.”
Elizabeth said, “It was one of the happiest moments of my life, I can’t believe I am now national champion. I can’t thank everyone who has coached or supported me enough; moments like this make all the hard work worth it.”
