LOCAL rider, Ryan Hitchcock, will return to the British Talent Cup Championship in 2021.
The young sport star from Melksham will compete for the Wilson Racing team he rode so well for in his rookie year in 2020.
He impressed in his rookie season on the Honda NSF250R standard Moto3 machine finishing 10th in the final championship standings. Hitchcock managed to score points in all ten races.
Reflecting on 2020, he also took two Fab Racing British Championship titles, winning both the LC40 Elite category and the Extreme 200 Championship. In the LC40 Elite category he showed he can ride under pressure. He arrived at the final race weekend 29 points behind the championship leader, but went on to take three race victories and take the title by one point.
Whilst the British Talent Cup will be his main focus in 2021, he is also competing in a pitbike series on a CW140R. The thirteen-year-old cannot wait to get back on track, restrictions permitting.
Ryan said, “Last year was really good for me. I won two British Championship titles and learning the big tracks on the Moto3 was great fun. Returning to Gary Wilson’s British Talent Cup team on the Moto3 was an easy decision for us after we had such a good start on the Moto3 last year. I now have a year’s experience so I hope to be moving towards the podium this year, but it is a very competitive series with some good new riders coming in, so we will have to wait and see. I am also looking forward to racing the pitbike.”
If any business or individual would like to get involved in sponsoring Ryan’s racing in 2021 then please contact his dad Dean Hitchcock on +44 7805 183 549.
