120 runners lined up on The Common in Broughton Gifford for the twelfth running of the Foxtrot 5, organised by Stampede Sports.
Husband and wife Simon and Denise Nott, both of Calne Running Club, took the honours. This was Simon’s fourth victory at the race and he achieved a speedy 25:45, nearly thirty seconds ahead of second placed Michael Towler of Avon Valley Runners and Thomas Davies of Team Bath, who along with 11th placed Charlie Stockley and 13th placed David Vaudin (1st MV50), took the Men’s team title.
For Denise Nott it was her third victory at the event and she was made to work hard with second placed Joanna Thompson of Bath just ten seconds behind, and third placed Jackie Riley of Bitton Road Runners a further twenty seconds back.
Taking the FV40 prize was fourth placed Anita Mellodew of Avon Valley Runners who, along with Juliet Coulson and Tina Towler, claimed the Ladies’ team prize.
Other awards were presented to: 1st MV40 – Heath Bampton of Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds; 1st MV60 – Steve Hale of Team Bath; 1st MV60 – David George of Westbury Harriers; 1st FV50 – Alison Graham of Corsham Running Club; 1st FV60 – Jane Watkins of Marlborough Running Club.
