Nearly 200 runners have signed up for the third running of the Melksham 10K, which this year takes place on Sunday 20th September and is sponsored by The Melksham Independent News.
The 10 kilometre course starts in Lowbourne Road and takes the runners on two laps around the town including Blackmore Road, Spa Road, Snowberry Lane, Thyme Road and Sandridge Road before finishing in Queensway.
Organisers say, “This year’s event features in the Wiltshire Road Race League and should attract some good club athletes at the sharp end, including previous winner and current county 10K champion Simon Nott of Calne Running Club who holds the course record of 31-minutes 30-seconds set in 2013.
“There are awards on offer to the leading age-category winners and all finishers will receive a medal. The race headquarters for the event is at the Adventure Centre in the town park and on the day entries will be available until 09.30, subject to the race limit of 300 not having been reached.
