FOLLOWING a very successful 2016/17 season by Beanacre Table Tennis Club’s three teams in the West Wilts Table Tennis League, the club held their inaugural handicap singles competition last month.
Ten players took part over three evenings in a 3-group ’round robin’ format to determine who would qualify for the final round. After a very intense and exciting evening of table tennis between four players playing singles matches against each other, it was fitting that the last match featured Keith Holland and Adam Dawes, who emerged as the only two players who could win the competition; and what a match it was, dogged determination versus a large amount of youthful flair, but it was the former who triumphed 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-3.
The 2017/18 season has recently commenced and Beanacre TTC are now fielding four teams in the WWTTL, one in the Premier Division, one in the 1st Division and two in the 2nd Division.
