ON Easter Monday, 1st April, Melksham Town are at home to title-chasing Frome Town with kick-off at 3pm, reports club chairman Darren Perrin.
We advise all supporters to arrive early and get dropped off or walk where possible, as we are hoping for a crowd of close to 1,000 for a Southern League fixture.
On paper, it looks like a tall order for the Town, with a vast difference in playing budget and a vast difference in league positions, but earlier in the season, the two sides drew 2 – 2 on Boxing Day with five sendings-off!!!
We will need our fantastic supporters to really get behind the team against the large contingent of Frome fans who will be there cheering their side on.
Please note that on the day there will be security checks, checking for flares, pyrotechnics, smoke bombs and anyone caught with them will be ejected from the ground. Enjoy the game, get behind your team and let’s hope Melksham can pull off a great shock.
Melksham Town Reserves booked their place in the final of the Wiltshire League Cup with a magnificent 3 – 0 victory over Kintbury in front of a sizeable crowd at Oakfields.
Goals from Haffenden, Bright (x2) secured their place. The Reserves will play Larkhall Athletic Development or Amesbury on Saturday 11th May at Corsham Town.
