THE Wiltshire 10 race is once again taking place on the roads around Melksham in the new year, on Sunday 12th February.
This will be the eleventh running of the event and is one of the most popular races in the South West of England, regularly attracting over 500 runners.
The run starts in Lowbourne Road and follows a certified accurate 10-mile course out around the historic village of Lacock before returning back to finish alongside the River Avon in King George V Playing Fields.
Not only is the course picturesque but it has also provided the opportunity for runners to record some fast times with the current course records being 49:34 set by Daniel Studley of Bristol and West AC in 2017 and 56:18 set by Jenny Spink also of Bristol and West AC in 2016.
Over 500 runners are expected to take part in the race and all finishers will receive a specially minted medal. Prizes will also be on offer to the first three men and women to complete the course as well as to the winners of the V40, V50 and V60 age categories along with team prizes.
