WITH excitement building for one of Melksham’s most anticipated events of the year, organisers of Melksham Carnival and Family Fun Day say there’s still time to get involved.
Preparations are well under way for what is expected to be another fantastic day and you can still be involved.
Spokesperson for the carnival committee, Christine York said, “There are so many ways you can be involved with this year’s carnival or at the fun day at King George V Park.
“Stalls are still available for the fun day so if you would like to have a stall, please do get in touch as soon as you can. We would also like to remind people to fill in their forms for the procession and get them back to us as soon as possible. It would be great if any schools, playgroups, local sports groups and local organisations take part. It doesn’t have to be a large float – walking groups are more than welcome!
“We would also like to hear from you if you would like to dress up and carry a collection bucket for us! You don’t need to become a member of the committee or attend any meetings, just let us know and turn up on the day with your best fancy dress outfit. Could you help us with marshalling or stewarding? If so, we want to hear from you! Or could you be a friendly face at the fun day telling people where to go and what’s going on?
“It doesn’t matter how big or small your role is on the day, we would just like to have as many volunteers as possible to help the day run smoothly.
“It’s going to be a brilliant day and we would love to see lots of people come along.”
