WORK will soon begin on a campaign to raise awareness about keeping dogs on leads in King George V playing field.
Melksham Town Council voted in favour of launching a campaign last year in August, after being approached by residents concerned about dog owners allowing their dogs off the lead outside of the designated enclosure, next to the skate park, endangering children and other dogs.
At a meeting last week, town councillors were told that the town council’s business apprentice would be working on the project to move it forward.
Currently, dogs are required to be kept on a lead in the park, unless in the designated dog enclosure.
