Sat. 7th March. DORSET & WILTS 1 NORTH Frome 2nds 10 Melksham 8
Frome came out on top in a strongly contested match at their home fixture with Melksham, 10-8.
The game was an even contest throughout, the home team bolstered by strong home support. Charlie Radcliffe scored the first points of the day for the visitors from a catch and drive line out. Frome looked to secure points from a breakaway run, only to be thwarted by a tremendous cover tackle from winger Pita Moku. Frome maintained pressure on the line and were rewarded with a penalty try, to take the lead just before the whistle.
The restart continued the ebb and flow with no change in the scoreboard until the last quarter when Ali Smith struck a difficult penalty to nudge the visitors into the lead. That was short lived as within minutes, Frome struck a similar shot to retake it and so it remained to the final whistle 10-8
