INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day was celebrated in Melksham on Saturday 7th March with an event held at the Rachel Fowler Centre.
Attendees were able to have a go at belly dancing, thanks to Wafaa Powell. Sarah Hackett, professor of history at Bath Spa University then gave a talk on ‘Equality for all – challenges faced by women’, followed by a question and answer session. The free event, hosted by West Wiltshire Multi Faith Forum, also provided stalls to browse, lunch and refreshments.
