Melksham Ladies met Oakmeadians Ladies for the second time this season on Sunday 23rd February, this time on home soil.
It was a narrow defeat for Melksham, losing 17-14. Melksham managed to hold the lead until the final minutes of the match when Oakmeadians scored their third try. Both teams’ defence was strong for the entire match, with each team showing their skill by obtaining multiple turnovers. It was clear to see the improvement in both these development teams since their last meeting, where Oakmeadians won 37-15. While the scrums were uncontested, the line outs were not, and each team had the opportunity to translate plays from practice into the match.
Melksham try scorers were Candice Walters and Shannon Brown, with conversions by Ashleigh Berry and Elisha Griffin.
