Melksham were hosts to Pewsey Vale and started with a penalty against the visitors slotted by Joe Hargreaves.
Growing forwards pressure resulted in a scrum 5 metres out, Melksham whipped the ball out wide for Chris Mulgrew to score. The home team continued to maintain the pressure with full back Rob Thorne outpacing the visiting defence to score, Hargreaves converting.
The game settled, until Steve Watson made a strong break for the line to score, Hargreaves adding the extras. The backs continued to threaten with both Mulgrew and Thorne going in for their second of the half closing at 34-0.
In the third quarter Charlie Radcliffe added to the tally with strong forwards play, Hargreaves converting. The home team continued to pile on pressure, Rob Thorne showing his electric pace to score his third of the game, Hargreaves adding the extras.
Pewsey rallied to score from a quickly taken penalty to get on the board. The home response came from Hargreaves taking a great running line through the centre shipping to Radcliffe, in support, for his second. The visitors continued to play with heart working their way up the pitch and were rewarded with a converted try off the scrum, closing the game 55-12.
