As if scripted, the visiting centre Callum Gillard danced through defenders just stopped short of the line, Trowbridge defending the breakdown until Callum Hurn sold the dummy pass and dove in for the bonus point try. The home team battled on and were rewarded with another well worked try down the wing. The half closing at 15-24.

A break by Hurn and a delayed pass to winger Luke Cador wrong footing the home defence, Cador once again getting around defenders to score. Hurn adding the conversion. Sensing they were in control, Melksham’s next attack went for a push over try, ball in the hands of hooker Brad Wilkins. As the try was scored, the offending defenders caused the referee to award a penalty try.
The Melksham winger, Luke Cador, to demonstrate his great form, collected a loose ball to step his way through traffic to score his fourth of the game. Hurn adding the extra points.
